ABOUT KICK TO THE FINISH, LLC

Kick to the Finish was developed with one thing in mind: to bring the passion of racing to all aspects of the race; including timing. Throughout the years, I myself have built my life around running as a competitive runner, XC/Track and Field coach, MTFOA Official, and parent of track athletes.  Timing is the final basis of what we train for, what motivates us, and provides us with a definitive result at the end of day.  Timing is more than just a number.  I think of it as the heartbeat of the race.  Each click of the clock, every chip crossing the mats, and the programs that put it all together make the race complete.

Derek Ellis

Owner

Kick to the Finish is the heart of Derek Ellis.  Track and Field has been his life since 1988.  His love for the sport started by running for North Attleboro High School and then collegiately for Merrimack College.  Derek always knew that he wanted to share his passion for the sport with others.  He became a Physical Education Teacher and then began his coaching career supporting the Mansfield High School team to always strive to be their best.

Derek has always been driven to learn every aspect of Track and Field to better his craft.  Through his aspirations he has obtained his USATF Level 1 Track and Field Certification, National Federation High School Coaches Certification, and Race Day Scoring Certification.  He was a three time Boston Globe Coach of the Year, Enterprise News Coach of the Year, and inducted into the MSTCA Hall of Fame in 2022.  He is currently the Director of Timing for the MSTCA.

Jillian Ellis

Owner

Jillian’s love of running came later in life.  She was a thrower in high school and began running as a hobby.  Her heart for the sport came through her training for the 2017 and 2019 Boston Marathon as well as the Providence Marathon and endless 5K’s and half marathons.   She began her coaching career at Attleboro High School with the goal of providing the team with a positive atmosphere that celebrated every athlete and every PR.  She continues that joy and excitement watching every participant cross the line.
